Updating album info
Iron Maiden were on a roll and they released Powerslave, another huge album, in 1983.The band toured Powerslave for 11 months which resulted in 1985's double live album, Live After Death. The band's second album, Killers, released in 1981, had a harder edge than their first and was also a UK hit.Original vocalist, Paul Di'Anno, left the band in 1982 and was replaced with Bruce Dickinson who completed what is now considered to be Iron Maiden's classic line-up.Their next two releases were both concept albums, Somewhere in Time from 19's Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.Seventh Son was widely considered to be the band's best album since Number of the Beast and spawned the successful singles, The Evil That Men Do and The Clairvoyant.Iron Maiden was formed in 1976 by bass player Steve Harris and it was four years before they released their first, self-titled, album.
Iron Maiden took full advantage of their new found global fame and quickly put out their next album, Piece of Mind, before going on two major tours. At last I can say that there'll be a London show in April: the Queen Elizabeth Hall on the 20th. Additionally, an extra show has now been added in Brighton on 27th April. As is the way of things with consecutive nights in the same place I shall, of course, be doing entirely different sets on the two nights..... A most entertaining run of twelve solo shows in Japan and Italia and finally I took part in the IBexpo experience in Halmstad, Sweden last weekend...a great event with wonderful performances from all the musicians involved (15 of us in total). If you are interested in more news, movements and/or photos, please join my Facebook group. To round off my touring for the start of 2018, some shows are now in For Germany in May.
