Updating from windows 98 t driffield dating
Probably a 1.x.x release version is more likely to work, but anyway, here's the Link: OK, thanks for all the thoughts.I have plans to try this with all the OS's and refurbish my small hand me down collection of old computers. My question is this.....there a more updated browser for Firefox than version 22.214.171.124 that will still work with Win98SE and maybe be able to deliver better functionality to me when I access websites?
Heck, I have a copy of Be OS still laying around that I'm not sure I could find anything to run it on.But if I switch browsers, I will need something similar to No Script that will work with a new browser and Win98SE. The main problem that I see is that you are constantly going to run into what you are experiencing now.Reason being is that old Pentium II processor simply cannot handle all of today's advertising. Today's infrastructure doesn't work with the "ancient" Win98 OS.They told me that had the Millenium Disk and wanted to upgrade to it.When I got there they handed me a boot floppy for ME. "That's all there is -- the guy that gave it to us told us it was Millenium".
I should have mentioned.....is my hobby computer and I am doing this for fun just to learn from the experience and to see if I can get it to work. I suppose I could try it again or is there another alternative browser that would work with 98? You need to be using a current browser to view pages normally and Win98 isnt going to run anything new enough to handle current standards.
